Automatically Collected Data: When you visit our website, we automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring website, pages visited, and access times. This data is necessary for the proper functioning of our service.
User-Provided Data: We collect location coordinates (latitude/longitude), dates, times, and timezone information that you voluntarily enter to generate your personalized star maps. We also collect email addresses if you contact us directly.
Star Map Data: The astronomical calculations and resulting star map configurations you create are temporarily processed to generate your celestial visualizations.
Do we use cookies or tracking technologies?
We use only essential cookies and local storage necessary for the basic functionality of our website, such as remembering your settings and preferences during your session. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies. No third-party tracking services are implemented on our website.
Legal Basis & Purpose
Why do we process your data and what is our legal basis?
Service Provision (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): We process your location and time data to generate personalized star maps as part of our contractual service to you.
Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): We process technical data to ensure website security, prevent abuse, and improve our service quality. Our legitimate interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR): Where required, we obtain your explicit consent before processing personal data, particularly for direct communications.
How long do we retain your data?
Session Data: Location coordinates, dates, and star map configurations are processed temporarily and are not permanently stored on our servers.
Technical Logs: Server logs containing IP addresses are automatically deleted after 30 days.
Communication Data: If you contact us via email, we retain your messages for up to 3 years to provide customer support and maintain records of our correspondence.
Premium Services: For high-resolution image downloads, access tokens and related data are retained for the duration specified in your service agreement.
Data Sharing & Transfer
Do we share your personal data with third parties?
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Limited data sharing occurs only in the following circumstances:
Technical Service Providers: We use hosting services and content delivery networks to operate our website. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and process it only according to our instructions.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose personal data if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights and the safety of our users.
Astronomical Data Services: Location and time data is processed through our astronomical calculation services to generate star positions, but no personal identifiers are included in these calculations.
Do we transfer data outside the European Union?
Our primary data processing occurs within the European Union. If any data transfer to third countries is necessary for technical operations, it is conducted only with adequate safeguards in place, such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions by the European Commission. You will be informed of any such transfers and the protective measures applied.

Data Security
How do we protect your personal data?
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk, including:

Special Considerations
Do we process data of minors?
Our service is not specifically directed at children under 16 years of age. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal data should contact us immediately.
Automated decision-making and profiling
We do not engage in automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects or similarly significant effects concerning you. Our star map generation is based solely on the astronomical calculations you request and does not involve any automated analysis of your personal characteristics or behavior.
